Who I am

Where I
Come From

Hiking3_edited.jpg

I have a deep passion for traveling and backpacking. I aspire to extend this journey across our country and other continents.

My time in Scouts significantly influenced my personal development. Here I was given the opportunity to lead, contribute to my community, and earn the rank of Eagle.

The context in which I come from makes me who I am today. Growing up on a farm, I learned the value of resiliency and hard work. I learned community and leadership through Boy Scouts and by involving myself in various clubs. I pushed my boundaries by attending a rigorous residential high school that presented a more challenging environment. During my free time, I engage in many small projects that have allowed me to combine my academic and practical skills, creating a source of enjoyment and pride.

Over time I developed a passion for designing and continuous improvement. Growing up in a revitalized space era sparked a passion for space technology. The start of a new manufacturing and engineering renaissance fueled a dream to work in the aerospace manufacturing industry. The potential to make space more accessible through the development of more affordable space technology is one I find exciting. I hope to make a lasting impact in this dynamic field of advanced manufacturing.

June 2019 - August 2019

Connersville, IN

Line Cook

Taco Bell

Here I employed customer management, safety/cleanliness guidelines, and food handling. Learned time management and work ethic.

June 2019 - January 2020

Connersville, IN

Assistant Herdsman

Jacobs and Brichford Dairy

I served in various roles in animal care and farm management at a dairy farm producing artisanal cheeses. Worked a 50-head strong dairy herd, alongside supporting Angus and sheep herds, performing tasks such as milking, construction, heavy equipment operation, veterinary practices, and environmental management. Learned self management and maintenance skills.

January 2020- June 2020,

May 2021 - August 2021

Richmond, IN

Operator and Grinder

Primex Plastics Inc.

Held an essential job during Covid-19 on my plastics extrusion line. My job title of Line Operator involved duties of producing, packaging, and quality control of the 2,000 lbs/hr PETG sheets being produced. Operated an industrial grinder to keep the factory 100% waste free. I was trained to operator status on the line to extrude, package, and transport PETG with an emphasis on quality control and medical grade cleanliness. Worked two terms, one during gap year and one during summer of freshman year of college. Learned forklift operation, technical reading, quality control, and line management.

May 2022 - August 2022

New Castle, IN

Industrial Engineering Intern

Crown Equipment Corp.

During my sophomore summer, I took an internship at Crown Equipment, a forklift manufacturer. I worked under a mentor in the fabrication engineering department, which included a tooling room, die presses, and robotic laser cutters. I was given a large amount of personal freedom in completing my projects. Projects I worked on often included data collection, quality studies, Six Sigma guidelines, and time cycle studies. These projects were small and numerous, often focused on understanding and improving existing floor operations through tool design and data analysis. Large data studies and part quality studies were among the most impactful. Tools used included NX, Excel, and machining equipment. Learned engineering skills and the manufacturing environment.

May 2023 - August 2023

New Castle, IN

Industrial Engineering Intern

Crown Equipment Corp.

In my final year of undergraduate studies, I chose to return to Crown, motivated by the significant autonomy granted and strong company culture. This internship differed greatly from my prior experience, characterized by the heightened scale and complexity of my projects. I assumed leadership roles in initiatives aimed at implementing new processes and enhancing floor operations through system design, business and engineering studies, and tool fabrication. I led a primary project budgeted at $100,000 to design an automated system to replace manual operations. I was given the opportunity and responsibility to lead projects through brainstorming, budgeting, design, construction, and implementation. I utilized tools such as NX, AutoCAD, Excel, SAP, and robotic programming to execute these tasks effectively. Here I learned project management, communication, and system design.

May 2024 - August 2024

Liberty, IN

Industrial Engineering Intern

NSK Ltd.

Between undergraduate and graduate studies, interned at NSK, a manufacturer of precision automotive bearings. Again granted great autonomy, I took the opportunity to learn a great deal about automation and quality control at this state of the art facility. Continued long standing continuous improvement project to reduce sound for better operator safety. Conducted multiple industrial studies that affected permanent change to operator process and positioning, and created a better understanding of plant automation effectiveness. Learned application design program Quickbase to develop databases to manage plant wide tooling, transitioning plant from reactive to proactive. Utilized tools such as Quickbase, Solidworks, and Excel; made multiple presentations to leadership to affect change in the plant. Learned self-teaching skills, database design, industrial study, and project management.

August 2024 - December 2024

Remote

Engineering Co-op

NSK Ltd.

Convinced NSK leadership to create first position of its kind to continue working part time during graduate school. Fills much needed knowledge gap in company to design Quickbase databases. Currently creating inventory, tooling, and operator survey databases to digitize and automate plant information. I am continuing several industrial studies and present data analysis to the engineering team.
